GF-ELTI Snorkel Reheating Furnaces C.C.M. (Continuous Casting Machine) are plants used in steelworks and intended to reheat snorkels.
Snorkels are specific devices intended to equip the tundishes and discharge the liquid metal from the tundish to the ingot moulds in continuous casting lines.
Furnaces have a quadrangular base and they are made of a metal structure properly lined by a refractory material in order to internally obtain the combustion and snorkel reheating chamber. The upper cover (demountable) is equipped with openings for inserting and placing the snorkels vertically. Flue gases are discharged not only through the conduit, but also through the snorkels.
GF-ELTI Snorkel Reheating Furnaces C.C.M. are typically equipped with:
All management, control and signal devices are grouped on a frame / self-bearing support metal structure secured to the floor and placed in a protected zone.
The latter groups:
The Reheating Furnace as well as the management and control unit are equipped with proper lifting hooks through a bridge crane for use in case of maintenance after power supply disconnection.
