GF-ELTI Reheating and Drying stations for Torpedos are plants used in steelworks and strictly connected to torpedos.
The torpedos are containers intended to collect the melted metal (cast iron) produced by blast furnaces, consisting of an external metal structure internally lined by refractory material. These containers are placed and transported by means of railway bogies, forming the torpedos.
Reheating and Drying stations are used to dry and pre-heat the torpedos at temperatures suitable for the process (~ 950 ÷ 1,100 °C) before their use. Equipped with a combustion and an automation systems, these machines can carry out reheating cycles programmed in compliance with pre-set time-temperature curves.
