Thermic Drying System

GF-ELTI Thermic Drying Systems are plants connected to Heat Treatment lines and intended to dry products, where required by the production process.

Typical examples of these applications are tube drying furnaces or tube reheating furnaces before washing. The former are used to dry tubes before welding bevelled edges; the latter pre-heat the tubes to be lined before washing them by means of specific acids. These plants - generally included in continuous production lines - are of fundamental importance in the production processes, in which the product must be dried and, if necessary, slightly pre-heated.

These plants typically consist of:

• cylindrical or pseudo-cylindrical reheating chamber
• internal roller ways, parallel to the furnace axis, intended to handle the tubes to be dried (load and unload).

These plants are equipped with GF-ELTI open-flame burners. Their operation is managed through a PLC and the energy supply is kept under constant control by changing the ON and OFF times, to which every single burner is subject. The burners in use may be:

• linear, uniformly distributed along the inner walls of the furnace to reheat the surface homogeneously
• traditional, operating while keeping the axis parallel to the tube axis to lap both outer and inner surfaces.

Types of treated products: welded or lined metal tubes.
