GF-ELTI Devices for Hardness Measurement (“Valtulini HBw”) are machines carrying out the Brinell or Vickers hardness tests automatically or half-automatically, thus ensuring accuracy and repeatability.
These devices essentially consist of:
The complexity of the machine and the number of working axes vary according to process needs.
The products under test are placed on the working base, above which the mobile portal is operating. A multi-function head, of a “revolver” type, fulfilling all the functions required by the test operation is installed on the portal. In particular, the head is equipped with:
The device can also acquire some images of the surface under test through the optical unit and store them through a PC or supervision system.
The execution of every single test is subject to the mapping of every single test point, which can be done through a self-learning process, from time to time, or permanently. This function enables the operator to use the machine half-automatically, i.e. in a context characterised by a limited number of products, or automatically, i.e. in a context characterised by high volumes and extremely repetitive operations.
Control techniques form an integral part of the thermal process and it is for this reason that GF-ELTI makes its début in the world of NDT controls by realising and certifying a machine suitable for post-treatment hardness control, 3,000 kgs with a ball, 10 mm. in diameter. The peculiar characteristics of the system are: reliability, repeatability, accuracy and certification of the measure, insensitivity to human practice, high production rate.
Types of treated products: products of various dimensions, weight and shape.
